Grady CEO Joins Two Former U.S. Surgeon Generals as Public Forum Guest

John Haupert Answers Questions from the Public about Mental Illness

The Chief Executive Officer or Grady Health Systems will take questions from attendees during the 3rd Annual Health Summit sponsored by the Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority. The FDHA's theme for the summit is: Who Does Mental Health Affect? It will take place December 8, 2014 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis.

The summit will start with a breakfast address from the state commissioner of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Frank Berry. Then, morning and afternoon seminars will address how to help veterans cope with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome); describe signs of behavioral problems in children, explain why primary care physicians need information about mental health disease and discuss ways to combat dementia in aging populations, along with several other topics.

John Haupert, FACHE (Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives)  will participate in a public forum moderated by the president and CEO of Morehouse School of Medicine, Dr. Valerie Montgomery Rice. Special forum guests also include two former United States Surgeon Generals, Dr. David Satcher and Dr. Regina Benjamin.

The FDHA's summit breakfast starts at 8:30 a.m. Morning sessions run from 10:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. A separate working lunch seminar explains ways to access available mental health resources. Afternoon sessions start at 1:15 pm. and end at 2:30 pm., with the public forum going from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Respected physicians, published scientists, respected directors of substance abuse programs and researchers with present cutting edge information on all aspects of the topic.
