FDHA’s – Black Men’s Health Barbershop Initiative
April 13 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT

The Fulton DeKalb Hospital Authority’s (FDHA) Community Health Awareness and Prevention (CHAP) team extends an open invitation to members of the Fulton and DeKalb communities to attend our upcoming Virtual Barbershop Session.
The FDHA will be hosting a 6-part Virtual Barbershop Initiative to provide Heart Health education and engage with Black males of all ages. During a time when we are experiencing profound isolation, our creative health initiative continues to foster The FDHA’s community engagement and outreach while promoting wellness. We are encouraging men to take the steps necessary to make wellness a lifestyle. The FDHA is offering free online health events that are life-saving education opportunities. Presenters will deliver monthly zoom webinars, within a familiar barbershop context, that will include the following:
· Information on community resources
· A blood pressure screening demonstration
· A discussion on how to interpret the current blood pressure chart
· Q & A with experts
Panelists will include renowned doctors and medical professionals with expertise in cardiology, nutrition, physical fitness, and testimonials from patients who are managing heart disease/high blood pressure.
